Delayed Puberty in female

Delayed puberty is when teen goes through these body change s later than the usual age range. For girls, it means no breast development by age 13 or menstrual period by age 16. Puberty change occurs when body produces sex hormone these changes occur mainly in 8-14 years. Puberty start when the pituitary gland begins to produce 2 hormones luteinizing hormone and follicular stimulation hormone, which cause the ovary to enlarge and began producing estrogen. This growth starts shortly after breast began to develop, and the first menstrual cycle began after 2-3 years. A girl who has not started to have Brest development by the age of 13 is considered to be delay puberty.

Cusses of delay puberty

 Some girls with delayed puberty may have problems with the ovary. The ovaries are either not developing properly or are being damaged. This is called as primary ovarian insufficiency. The major cause of it is Thurman syndrome which is present at the time of birth. In which all or one of the part of 2X chromosome is missing. Delayed puberty is not harmful until there is any medical cause. Many of the children with delayed puberty are evaluated and most of the time there is no medical problem.

If you notice that your child is not growing properly this kid should be evaluated by specialist, and if there is any medical cause for delayed puberty that should be treated and it is treated by hormonally, startlingly. If delayed puberty is inherited no treatment is usually needed. In other causes, surgery may be done to correct the problem.
