SKIN CARE IN PREGNANCY

A woman's body goes through several hormonal changes in her life—an important one being pregnancy.  Skin issue at some point. The most common are:

  • Dry skin
  • Darkening skin (a condition called melasma)
  • Acne
  • Stretch marks
  • Hair loss
  • Retinoid

Vitamin A can help reverse acne and reduce fine lines. Retinoid do this by helping surface-level skin cells exfoliate faster and boosting collagen production to rejuvenate skin.

  • Azelaic acid: It works to reduce redness and decrease pigmentation.
  • Anti aging/ wrinkle
  • Vitamin E
  • Vitamin K
  • Vitamin B3
  • Green tea
  • Load up on moisturizer

Moisturize frequently to avoid stretch marks, reduce itchiness and soothe the dry skin caused by pregnancy. Moisturize all over your body, especially knees and elbows, nipples etc, as they tend to become even drier.

In addition to drinking plenty of water, moisturizing products that have coconut oil, cocoa butter, peptides, and Hyaluronic acid (HA) can improve hydration.

  • Niacinamide this form of vitamin B3 can help to reduce redness and inflammation.
  •  The skin is usually fairly elastic, when it is overstretched; there is a permanent snapping of the collagen and elastin fibres in the tissue, which gives rise to stretch marks. Use Argan oil, rosehip oil or coconut oil for stretch marks—these oils help your skin hydrate and reduce the appearance.
